The story for far…
Months ago, the retired wizard Algerbane, unleashed a terrible evil upon this family. In an effort to defeat his long time rival, Mordred, he unknowingly triggered a trap that resulted in the death of his wife and the capture of his daughter. In order to redeem her, the dispirited wizard was forced to undertake a series of dangerous and humiliating trials. The last and worst of all was to find a bumbling dwarf, whom he christened Peter, and take him to the dark ruins of Fel’Qad. There the evil wizard Mordred would kill them both in an attempt to resurrect an army of dragons.
Algerbane and Peter, through sheer luck, escaped their horrid fate. They were rescued by a band of travelers and taken to city of Augury. There they were confronted by the stoic and malevolent council of wizards, the Incarnum. Algerbane was tried for the catastrophic events at Fel’Qad, though he was innocent of any wrong. Through the intervention of a young steward, Mayatha, Algerbane and Peter were acquitted, though the hand of Mordred was uncovered even within the Incarnum.
Now Algerbane and Peter–with the help of their new companion Mayatha–have embarked on a perilous quest to save his daughter. They do not know where Mordred is hiding her, nor the mountain of trials they must overcome to find her. Little does Algerbane know, or is willing to admit, that his personal journey will pit him against the oldest evil, and determine the fate of an entire world!
