Sketch of Avarice the assassin

November 11, 2010 by Adam Casalino

BlogHere’s another selection from my moleskine notebook.  I have to say that I like the size of the book, but I’m not a fan of the actual paper it uses.  So in the future, I’ll probably go with another (cheaper) brand.  Anyway, here is a drawing of Avarice.  He was the main character of my original manuscript.  After careful consideration I decided to go in another direction with the story and instead utilize Avarice in another capacity.  I’m actually contemplating bringing him into the comic, but not for a long while.

Avarice was the last surviving member of a long forgotten race.  He lived with his mother and father as recluses in the small kingdom of Alborea.  As a child he witnessed his parents assassinations and was inevitably pulled into the esoteric world of murder and betrayal.  He remained an outcast of society, secretly preserving the order and stability of the nation through his nefarious contracts.

He’s certainly a dark character, but their’s something bold and powerful about him.  I like to play with him in some way and see what he can do.  Oh, and before you ask, I was developing this guy long before those video games came out.  So shut up.
