Here is a sneak peak sketch of next week’s comic, issue 70:

Sketch from next week’s comic
Here’s a sketch of Mayatha from next Tuesday’s comic. I know I’ve been talking a lot about her lately–in my mind she’s becoming more and more of an important character. A while back I realized the story needed a strong female. I had planned on introducing someone further down the road that would fill that void, then Mayatha came along. I had only intended on her being in a few comics while Al and Peter were at the Tower, but now I have bigger plans for her.
Issue 68 hits the webs January 11!
Some lame animal sketches
Eat your heart out, Karl Kerschl! Just kidding (that guy is a master at drawing expressive animals). Uh, I have been contemplating introducing a new type of character into the story. I know how cliché having a magical cat is in a comic with wizards. I have an idea to do something a little different. Check out the sketches below and see if you can identify the creature in the second image. $100 dollars to the first one that can get it right! Seriously though, no money.
If I do decide to introduce a fun animal into the mix, don’t expect to see him until sometime next year. Yeah I plan in advance 😛
Sketch of Avarice the assassin
Here’s another selection from my moleskine notebook. I have to say that I like the size of the book, but I’m not a fan of the actual paper it uses. So in the future, I’ll probably go with another (cheaper) brand. Anyway, here is a drawing of Avarice. He was the main character of my original manuscript. After careful consideration I decided to go in another direction with the story and instead utilize Avarice in another capacity. I’m actually contemplating bringing him into the comic, but not for a long while.
Avarice was the last surviving member of a long forgotten race. He lived with his mother and father as recluses in the small kingdom of Alborea. As a child he witnessed his parents assassinations and was inevitably pulled into the esoteric world of murder and betrayal. He remained an outcast of society, secretly preserving the order and stability of the nation through his nefarious contracts.
He’s certainly a dark character, but their’s something bold and powerful about him. I like to play with him in some way and see what he can do. Oh, and before you ask, I was developing this guy long before those video games came out. So shut up.
Sketch dump!
T-that’s more of a term people use when they’re “dumping” a bunch of sketches onto a forum post. This isn’t so much as a dump, as a light trickle. Anyway, here are some pic’s from the ol’ moleskine:
And here’s proof that I’ve been working on my manuscript. Once I clean it up a bit, I’ll post some to the site.

Nothing new from my moleskine today… but take a gander at a snippet of next week’s issue. Ah I love an angry dwarf in the morning!
