Sketch: the new Peter the dwarf

September 14, 2011 by Adam Casalino

Here is the (for the most part) final redesign for Peter. I haven’t changed much, but I find its important to keep things fresh and change aesthetics up from time to time. You’ll see the characters undergo a bit of a transformation at the start of what I’m calling “year 3” of the comic.  Things kick off with issue 105 and will ramp up moreso after we depart Hilome.

Clicky for large(You can click the picture for a larger version). This mockup of Peter’s new clothes and look will be the model for when I draw him in the comic. I plan to ink this digitally and add colors, so it will be even more useful as a template. This, along with the last sketch of Algerbane, and a yet-to-be draw sketch of Mayatha, will serve as models for the character. I’m also thinking of doing one of these for Mordred and the new characters coming up.

This is the sort of thing real cartoonists do for their characters. Why haven’t I done models from my work? I guess I’m just figuring all this stuff out.
