Here is a more finished version of that sketch of Sinéad O’Connor er, a new character. As it turns out, moleskine pages aren’t the best for scanning, so I apologize for the quality.

S’more behind the scenes
Right now I’m drafting up issue 57 of the Wizard of Quippley. More and more I find myself sketching thumbnails on ol’ fashion paper. So much so that I even picked up a moleskin notebook, so I can work on the comic wherever I go. Here’s proof:
I don’t know if I’m loving the moleskin yet. Yeah yeah, Hemingway and van Gogh used ’em, but the pages feel stiff and are a bit too off white. And don’t forget those two killed themselves. Was it because of the stiff pages? We’ll probably never know.
Anyway, what can I give away about the upcoming issues? Well, you will learn more about this strange tower in which Al’s found himself. You will also meet a bevy of new characters–something I’ve promised you all. And a few of the unanswered questions from the end of Year 1 will be addressed (like did Al kill a practically immortal being???).
Stay tuned (just leave your browser on this page for the week).
From the Photoshop…
Some web comics have posts like “From the sketchbook.” But I use Photoshop (hence the title). Piggy-backing off of yesterday’s post, here is a preview of an upcoming comic, featuring a LADY!
Look for this issue in two weeks! (#56 comes out October 19)
Next week’s comic

(Note to self: never say “peak-a-boo” again!)
Next week’s comic
